everything you need to know

about our jewelry

what is pvd coating?

+

pvd stands for physical vapor deposition. it's a process that bonds 18k gold to stainless steel at the molecular level, creating a finish that's far more durable than traditional gold plating. pvd coating is used in medical implants and aerospace — we use it to make jewelry that never fades.

will it really never tarnish?

+

our jewelry is made from 316l surgical-grade stainless steel coated in 18k gold via pvd. this combination is highly resistant to tarnishing, fading, and discoloration. you can wear it in the shower, the pool, the ocean, and the gym without worrying about it.

is your jewelry waterproof?

+

yes. our pieces are designed to be worn 24/7 — including in water. shower with it, swim with it, sweat in it. the pvd coating and surgical steel base are built to handle daily exposure to water and moisture.

will it turn my skin green?

+

no. the green discoloration you see with cheaper jewelry comes from copper reacting with your skin. our pieces are made from surgical-grade stainless steel, which doesn't contain copper and doesn't react with skin.

is it real gold?

+

our jewelry features a layer of real 18k gold bonded to surgical steel using pvd technology. it's not solid gold — it's engineered to give you the look and feel of gold with significantly greater durability and at a fraction of the price.

care & sizing

how do i care for my nimata jewelry?

+

honestly? just wear it. that's the whole point. our pieces don't require special care, polishing cloths, or storage rituals. if you want to clean them, warm water and a soft cloth is all you need.

how do i find my size?

+

for bracelets, measure your wrist with a flexible tape measure and add about half an inch for a comfortable fit. for necklaces, 16" sits at the collarbone, 18" falls just below. if you're between sizes, we recommend sizing up.
